ALSTON PLACES FIRST IN BLACK BELT NATIONALS!
Mr. Tom Alston placed First at the American Taekwondo Associations 2009 ATA Nationals. This is the ATA's first ever Black Belt Nationals. This puts Mr. Alston that much closer to World Champion!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
2009 IS THE YEAR OF THE OX
Among the many influences of Korean Tae Kwon Do was Shaolin Kung Fu from China. Chinese New Year is a celebration lasting several days and involves numerous events and festivities including martial arts competitions and demonstrations.

It's Tournament Season!
"It's tournament season again and this year we'll start off with our inter-school tournament to be held on February 28th in Mansfield, TX. This is a great opportunity for all students to come out and compete in both Kata and Sparring. Start practicing now, because you know your competition will be. We'll also be attending the 45th All American Open Taekwondo Championship's sponsored by Grand Master Jack Hwang in Oklahoma City, OK, on April 4th. This is one of the longest running tournaments still in existence and our school has supported it for many years. You may remember that two years ago our own Mr. Cmar was honored as Grand Champion at this very tournament. We'll be attending more tournaments this year than we have in the past, so there'll be plenty of opportunities for everyone."
